With a 220 km route that passes through some of the incredible conservancies we support: Lewa, Borana, Ol Jogi and Ol Pejeta Conservancy, runners had the adventure of a lifetime. Along the route, they saw not just rhinos, but also elephants, buffalo, zebra, impala and giraffe – and even heard lions roaring while they *tried* to sleep in their tents!
For their own protection, the ultra-runners were alongside armed rangers, who looked over them along the whole route and also gave them the opportunity to meet and learn about the people who risk their lives to protect the world’s most endangered animals.
Our 50-strong team of runners (including our CEO Cathy Dean and one rhino costume!) completed this epic race along the wild route and were in awe every second.
Check out the blogs on our news page to see how the team got on and experience the adventure for yourselves.
