Host a Big Rhino Quiz
Raise funds to support rhino conservation by hosting a Big Rhino Quiz. Gather your family, friends or colleagues and activate those brain cells for a good cause!
When you all can’t be in the same place, host a virtual quiz night on a video conferencing platform like Zoom. Instead of an entry fee, create an Enthuse fundraising page if you are in the United Kingdom or a GivenGain page if you are outside of the United Kingdom, and encourage your guests to contribute with a donation to take part.
How it works
Here’s your fool-proof step-by-step guide:
Step 1 – find somewhere to host your quiz. You could ask a local pub or community hall if you can host a charity quiz on a quiet night of the week, or ask if you can host an already popular quiz night at your local pub. Ask the venue if they have a PA system. If it’s in the office or at home, a microphone and speaker will help ensure you are loud enough for all to hear
Step 2 – have a suggested donation for entry per individual or per team
Step 3 – pick a date and time that works for you and your guests and send them invites
Step 4 – promote your event
Step 5 – come up with some round ideas / themes and about ten questions per round. It helps to know your audience. Some players will love rounds of obscure head-scratching questions, but others will just tune out! Keep knowledge general and broad if you’re expecting lots of people you don’t know. You can find questions by sifting through trivia books or looking at quiz question sites online. Remember to triple check your answers! Need a little help? Step 6 – consider a prize for the winning team. Ask around local pubs, restaurants and businesses to see if they can donate prizes in return for publicity
Step 7 – try and secure some prizes for a raffle. People love the chance to win something.
Step 8 – host your Big Rhino Quiz and have lots of fun!
Step 9 – create an online fundraising page for those who can’t make it but still want to make a contribution. If you can, follow up your guests afterwards to thank them and include a link to your fundraising page to ask for any extra contributions. If you are living in the United Kingdom you can set up an Enthuse page. If you are outside of the United Kingdom we recommend setting up a GivenGain page.
