Celebrating 20 Years of rhinos in the classroom with Victor Stationery
Behind every school exercise book there is a child who reads and writes their way to a brighter future. Since the 1920s Victor Stationery’s books have sat on classroom desks across the UK and Ireland – and on the back of each book, there is a rhino.
For 20 years Victor Stationery and Save the Rhino International have shared a common goal: to bring conservation into the classroom. By featuring our logo on the back of each exercise book, this serves as a powerful reminder of the fragile landscapes beyond the four walls of a classroom.
From a bookshop in Belfast to schools across the UK and Ireland, Victor Stationery has become the number one supplier of exercise books in both countries. Today it also plays its part in championing rhino conservation across Africa and Asia.
“Our long-standing and collaborative partnership has helped support Save the Rhino in their fantastic work in championing rhino conservation. As owners of the RHINO brand, we believe that it is part of our duty to raise awareness of the devastating effects of poaching rhinos. Every RHINO branded exercise book, notebook, pad, and flipchart pad purchased by a consumer helps that goal.”

20 years and over £150,000
We’re thrilled to celebrate our 20th anniversary with Victor Stationery!
Through Victor Stationery’s much loved Rhino range of colourful stationery, our partnership has raised over £150,000 to date. To put that in perspective, it’s more than a full year of support to our partners in Zambia, Java or Sumatra combined, supporting critically endangered rhino species.
A partnership of this length gives Save the Rhino something rare in conservation: support we can plan around. It allows us to make lasting commitments and a meaningful impact to the programmes we fund.
From notebooks for our Rhino Rangers kids’ membership to the Save the Rhino costume’s first trip to Dubai, Victor Stationery has shown what a true partnership looks like.
Raj Pandya, Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager at Save the Rhino International said:
“We’re incredibly proud of our partnerships at Save the Rhino International, and what makes this collaboration special is the people behind it. The team at Victor Stationery cares about rhinos as much as we do and that shows in every conversation we have. Twenty years on and £150,000 later, their enthusiasm is as strong as ever. Thank you to everyone at Victor – we can’t wait to see where the next chapter takes us.”
The impact of our partnership
Support from partners such as Victor Stationery helps fund vital work across Africa and Asia. In 2026 alone, our grants have included:
- £26,373 to cover annual life insurance for 1,807 rangers across Africa
- £17,154 allocated towards vehicle fuel and maintenance costs at the Save the Rhino Trust, Namibia programme
- £48,015 for continuing work on Project Blood Orange 2.0, the public-private follow-the-money investigation into a rhino-horn-trafficking syndicate in South Africa
Each donation from Victor Stationery brings us one step closer to our vision of all five rhino species thriving in the wild.

Here’s to the next 20 years
Thank you to everyone at Victor Stationery for 20 years of support for schools, rhinos and the planet. Children who learn with Rhino books today will grow up feeling connected to our natural world and the species within it. That connection will empower them to protect rhinos and their landscapes for future generations.
