Applying for a Save the Rhino grant

Make sure you’ve read our grant-making policy before reading further below, as this will ensure you are better informed of our priorities and strategic objectives.

In reality, unless you represent one of the programmes we support, it is unlikely that we will be able to add a new programme. Therefore, before you apply to us, we strongly recommend that you email our CEO, Cathy, with a short explanation (maximum one page) so that she can indicate to you whether it is worth developing a full proposal.

If you decide to go ahead and apply, download our grant application form.

You can apply at any time of year, and they will be considered at our quarterly Trustees’ meetings. Such meetings are usually held in March, June, September and December.

Applications should be sent to Cathy Dean. Cathy will have an initial read through, come back to you with any immediate questions, and then table them for the Trustees.

Cathy gives the Trustees her own recommendations, having considered each proposal against a range of weighted criteria. She may also consult other funders (perhaps of the same programme) to discuss particular aspects of an application.

The Trustees may decide to fund, ask more questions before making a decision, or reject. Cathy aims to inform all applicants of their decision within a month of the Trustees’ meeting.
