Rhinos: charging forward?

To celebrate World Rhino Day, we have invited leading experts from around the world to share their thoughts and reflections on the last 12 months.

During this event, we were asking:
  • What is going on in the world of rhino conservation?
  • What are the regional challenges and hurdles that rhino conservationists face in the global context?  
  • What can be done now to support rhinos and boost wildlife diversity?
Speakers:
Dr Jo Shaw, CEO of Save the Rhino International, will chair the conversation and provide an overview of the global rhino situation.
Dr Sam Ferreira, Scientific Officer of the African Rhino Specialist Group, will provide news and updates on the trends in black and white rhino populations.
Dr Bibhab Talukdar, Senior Advisor, Asian Rhinos at the International Rhino Foundation, will give an insight into the conservation of Greater one-horned rhinos.
Jimmy Rutherford, Programmes Officer at Save the Rhino International, will share an overview of the latest efforts to save Javan and Sumatran rhinos.
Dr Markus Hofmeyr, Director of Rhino Recovery Fund – Wildlife Conservation Network, will give a summary on moving forward.
