Great North Run 2024

The Great North Run is the largest half-marathon in the world and in September 2024, we’re excited to return to Newcastle for another brilliant event.

A half-marathon like no other, the Great North Run is famous for it’s inclusive atmosphere, unbeatable entertainment, and 13.1 miles of Geordie-magic. Each year, the event raises millions of pounds for worthy causes and charitable organisations. Save the Rhino International are proud to be amongst those charities and are looking for our 2024 team!

This is an event for everyone, whether it’s your first event or your 50th. It’s a joyful festival of running, with music blazing, crowds buzzing, legs pumping and fists bumping. From the roaring crowds, to the epic coastal views of the South Shields finish-line, there’s nothing like the Great North Run!

If you’re looking for a challenge this year, join us in Newcastle in September 2024 for the Great North Run and earn that much-coveted finisher’s t-shirt and medal, in the name of rhino conservation!

On average, our runners typically raise around £500 each; this helps us to cover the costs of your place on the team, while also maximising the funds for rhino conservation. Sometimes this seems like a daunting figure to raise; however, there are endless ways of fundraising, from bake sales to corporate sponsorship and match funding, and we’re here to support you every step of the way!

Got your own place?

If you’re lucky enough to have your own place in the Great North Run ballot, we’d love for you to join the team. Let us know if you’ve been successful by emailing us at fundraising@savetherhino.org
