We want to start by saying a huge, rhino-sized congratulations to all our incredible runners at the 2026 London Marathon!
On a sunny Sunday morning, our rhino runners, including seven fantastic costume runners, returned to the streets of London and, for the 34th year, and completed the London Marathon in aid of Save the Rhino. The team did an amazing job, and we are so proud of them and incredibly grateful for all their hard work, not just on the day but throughout the months leading up to it!
So far, our team has raised over £115k, bringing the total raised since we started in 1992 to more than £2 million.
There’s still time to donate towards their fantastic marathon effort. The final fundraising total will be revealed in July, and we can’t wait to see what the 2026 rhino crash achieves.
The whole team did an incredible job over the weekend, but a few shoutouts are in order:
- A huge congratulations to wildlife artist Katherine Hughes on completing her first marathon in an impressive 05:28:54
- Jim Higham is no stranger to challenges, having taken on the ForRangersUltra and the Brighton Marathon earlier this year, and finally the London Marathon this weekend, finishing in an impressive 06:06:03
- Kylene Wright showed true grit and determination, crossing the finish line as our final runner in 09:48:30 after an inspiring fundraising journey
- Benjamin Wood was our fastest Save the Rhino runner of the day, flying through the course in 02:47:54
- Eleni Kontosi led the way for our women, finishing as the fastest female runner in 03:33:29
- And a special mention to Rhino Boy Chris, who marked his 200th marathon – 132 of those run in the rhino costume!
