Save the Rhino's Sundowner Dinner 2015
On Wednesday 4 November 2015 rhino supporters from around the world gathered at The Mermaid in Blackfriars, London. A wonderful sparkling wine drinks reception kicked off the event, thanks to our sponsors Steppes Travel. With live music from acoustic band Maddy and the Makers, the atmosphere was buzzing.
Guests enjoyed stunning views overlooking the River Thames and across to the iconic Tate Modern, whilst our five guest speakers entertained them with a whirl wind of stories, transporting them to a time in which a sundowner in the North Pole meant the last moments of light before 84 days of darkness to adventures across the Amazon with indigenous people. Then on to the successful but not so successful Test match in the Caribbean in the 1980's, re-wilding Britain and the power of people and their role in conservation.
It was an evening enjoyed by all and a wonderful amount of money raised to protect endangered rhinos in the wild. Many thanks to all of our supporters, volunteers, donors, Steppes Travel, MC Clive Anderson and guest speakers, David Gower, Benedict Allen, Vanessa Berlowitz, Sam Kiley and Sir Charles Burrell, who helped make the event happen.
