Michaela joined Save the Rhino in November 2016 to fill a newly created role of Fundraising Officer. Working alongside Josephine, our Partnership Development Manager, her key responsibilities include stewardship of corporate and ZOO partnerships, responding to new prospective supporters, as well as helping to look after Save the Rhino’s membership scheme.

Michaela has always been passionate about global affairs, which led her to complete MSc degree in International Development at the University of Birmingham, specialising in Environment, Sustainability and Politics. For her Masters thesis, she conducted an independent research of community-managed marine protected areas in the Philippines. Working alongside Conservation International, she analysed the level of collaboration between community members and state authorities on the management of marine sanctuaries.

Previously, Michaela worked on organising ValeFest - the largest student-run charitable festival in the UK, which has raised thousands of pounds for various charities. She was mostly involved in building new corporate partnerships and securing corporate sponsorship.

In her spare time, Michaela enjoys doing outdoors sports, such as hiking, kayaking and biking. She also loves travelling and exploring new places.
