Katherine Johnston - Communications Manager
Katherine graduated from Jesus College, University of Oxford in 2008 with a BA (Hons) in Modern History and English before completing an MA in African Studies at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.
A not-for-profit sector professional, she has held a variety of fundraising, policy, volunteer management, and communications roles across health, international development, and wildlife organisations.
Katherine joined Save the Rhino International as Communications Manager in May 2016 after working for international development charity SolarAid, where she managed large-scale grants from bilateral and multilateral funders. At SRI, Katherine looks after the website, social media, The Horn magazine and other publications, as well as press and PR, and the organisation's relationships with schools and community fundraisers.
In her spare time, Katherine is a pro bono fundraising consultant to the Lynx UK Trust which aims to reintroduce the Eurasian Lynx to the British Isles; a trustee of London radio station Resonance 104.4FM, and an award-winning radio presenter and producer. She loves reading, running, horse riding and playing tennis.
