Save the Rhino International and the EAZA Rhino Campaign have been able to support a geographically wide range of projects.

Project partner: Indian Rhino Vision 2020 is coordinated by the International Rhino Foundation, WWF-India and the Assam Forest Department
Rhino numbers: ± 1,700, of which 85% are based in Kaziranga National Park
Support: The goal of Indian Rhino Vision 2020 is to increase the total rhino population in Assam from 2,000 to 3,000 by the year 2020 and, just as significantly, to ensure these rhinos are distributed over at least seven Protected Areas to provide long-term viability

Support: Monitoring of poaching trends and international trade is order to assess the threats and the requirements for a sustainable and effective anti-poaching strategy

Country: Indonesia
Location: Bukit Barisan Selatan, Way Kambas, Gunung Leuser National Parks in Sumatra and Ujong Kulon National Park in Java
Project partners: Indonesian Rhino Conservation Programme and the International Rhino Foundation
Rhino numbers: Sumatran rhinos Bukit Barisan Seletan: 60-85, Way Kambas: 20-30, Genung Leuser: 60+. Javan rhinos: Ujong Kulon: 40-50
Support: Rhino Protection Units (teams for anti-poaching and monitoring patrols) in four National Parks who patrol the protected areas and prosecute illegal activity

Country: Malaysia
Location: Tabin Wildlife Reserve, Sabah (on the island of Borneo)
Project partner: SOS Rhino
Rhino numbers: Not known. Tracks have been found recently
Support: Supplies and equipment to support additional Rhino Protection Units and enhance community outreach programmes in the plantations surrounding Tabin
