The Sixth Douglas Adams Memorial Lecture
supported by the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science and Ed Victor Ltd

Thank you to everyone who attended the Sixth Douglas Adams Memorial Lecture on Wednesday 12th March, we hope you enjoyed the night.

The event was opened by John Lloyd, long time friend of Douglas Adams and co-writer of the fifth and sixth episodes of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”, who told us his memories of Douglas Adams and the meaning of life!

Professor Steven Pinker then gave a stimulating and witty lecture on “The Stuff of Thought: Language as a Window into Human Nature” to a full house at the Royal Geographical Society. This was followed by a raffle and auction which raised a considerable amount of money for both Save the Rhino and the EIA, two charities supported by Douglas.

To mark the 30th anniversary of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”, members of the original cast reunited to give a one off live performance which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

A big thank you to everyone who gave up their time to make the night such a success.
