This year's Mayday was held on Wednesday 30 May 2007.The popular annual series of lectures continues this year. Open to both experts in the field of conservation and the general public, it's a chance to learn about the real issues facing rhinos and how projects are run. The event will start at 10.30am (doors open at 10 am for coffee) and end around 5pm. Tickets cost £10 each (which includes entry to the talks, morning and afternoon coffee/tea). Lunch will be at attendees' own expense at the zoo's cafeteria or as they please.
The Rhino Resource Center (RRC) has accepted the responsibility to organise the Rhino May Day in London this year. As in previous years, the Mayday will be held in the meeting hall of the Zoological Society in Regent’s Park, London.
To make enquiries or book tickets, please download the order form below and email it to henry@savetherhino.org - or post it to Henry French, Save the Rhino, 16 Winchester Walk, London SE1 9AQ.
You can also book over the phone by calling Save the Rhino on 020 7357 7474.
The Zoological Society of London will participate in the Rhino May Day by launching their new rhino programs or in a similar way. This will help us to advertise the day and to gain publicity. It is a great opportunity for the RRC to cooperate with ZSL in this manner.
Save the Rhino International will help with ticket sales and publicising the day on their website. Again this cooperation between organisations is a great opportunity.
A call for papers has been sent, and already received a good response.
The Rhino May Day 2007 will be an exciting event on the rhino calendar. Put the date 30 May 2007 in your diary, attend if you can and tell all your friends.
