Welcome to Rhino Savers!

Rhinos of all kinds are special. There are not many plant- munching herbivores out there that even get close to having the same presence or even command the respect that a rhinoceros does. I’m well known for my love of creepy crawlies and usually leave the mammals to other people, but rhinos are different. They are a force to be reckoned with and they are also in a lot of trouble; in my view, two very good reasons to get to know them and give them a helping hand, which is what you will be doing by becoming a ‘Rhino Saver’.

I have had many happy moments with these animals; they have helped me come to terms with other challenges that life has thrown at me, they have held me enchanted for hours, I have walked up to a mother white rhino and calf and patted her trusting head as well as seen the other side to their personality and been charged a few times too. Because of rhinos and their special powers, I have been persuaded to do some frankly silly things; I have raced across the desert and completed the hardest running race on earth and I have run around a greyhound track, both dressed as a rhino. I have met and made some very good friends both with and without horns and my one big ambition but one that I’m sadly confident I can never achieve is to see a Sumatran or Javan rhino in the wild.

In short, I live a rhino life and have been touched by these great animals and I am very pleased that as a Rhino Saver you are also beginning to understand too what this means and how much the world’s five species of rhinoceros need our help.
