The Third Douglas Adams Memorial Lecture
The Third Douglas Adams Memorial Lecture "Last Chance to See...Just a bit more" was held on Thursday 10 March 2005. The lecture was given by Mark Carwardine, co-author of Last Chance to See with Douglas Adams. Mark spends more than half of the year travelling the world in search of wildlife and exploring wild places - writing books and articles, researching his monthly columns in BBC Wildlife, Wanderlust and Diver magazines, making programmes for BBC Radio 4, taking photographs, leading tours and advising on conservation projects.
In this highly entertaining lecture he described some of his experiences and encounters with wild animals and even wilder people around the world – including some hilarious behind-the-scenes stories from Last Chance to See. And, inevitably, he had a thing or two to say about the state of the world.”
The Lecture was followed by a raffle and fundraising auction, in aid of the two charities of which Douglas was Patron: Save the Rhino International and the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
Save the Rhino would particularly like to thank the following:
