Help Save the Rhino...
...and we’ll help you survive a marathon
Ever thought about running a marathon, but found that at some point along the way your motivation slipped down the back of the sofa, and you haven’t seen it since? Well, this is your chance to get it back.
Save the Rhino is renowned for running marathons, and has received worldwide attention thanks to teams of runners, some wearing the famous rhino costumes, stomping their way through marathons all over the world; Around 750 people have run the London Marathon since 1992, over 250 have completed the New York Marathon since 1993. Costumed runners have also negotiated the courses in Los Angeles, Boston, Paris, Cape Town and Durban, and 2006 sees a costume run the Atacama crossing in Chile.
London and New York
We have 50 Gold Bond places every year for the London Marathon, and up to 20 for the New York Marathon (first Sunday in November). Follow the links for more information on these.
Ultra marathons
Save the Rhino has successfully put in teams, complete with rhino costume, for the 2002 and 2003 Marathon des Sables, the 2006 Atacama Crossing and the 2008 RAW Africa
Alternatively, if you want to do your own ultra marathon challenge, or put together your own team, aiming for speed rather than merely completing the course, we'll give you as much support as we can, so long as you agree to raise a minimum of £500 for Save the Rhino.
