Corporate partners - travel

Save the Rhino International is supported by many organisations that help us to raise awareness and funds for the projects we support. We would like to thank the travel companies listed below, some of which give us direct donations or in-kind support and others that contribute through affiliated sales and referrals, donating to us as you spend with them.

Baobab Expeditions will take you to visit rhino projects and hereby directly supports projects in the field!  Baobab is an African Safari Expedition company which visits some of Africa’s most exciting conservation organisations and combines this with its very own unique self-drive (or chauffeured) 4X4 safari concept. They offer a choice of 8 exciting expedition routes along which their guests can choose to drive their own (or chauffeured) 4x4 vehicles, all the while retracing the footsteps of some of Africa’s most legendary explorers such as Andersson, Livingstone, Baines, Stanley and Da Gama. Baobab’s backup vehicles, guides as well as its mechanics, enable our guests to explore otherwise hard to reach and famous African World Heritage sites, game parks, conservation and community projects. Their partnership with leading conservation organisations, including Save the Rhino, enables them to offer inspirational travel itineraries supportful of wildlife conservation and local community organisations. Baobab can even take you to visit some of the projects we support in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Discovery Initiatives: is organising a special Rhino Retribution Safari in Kenya in support of Save the Rhino.
This wildlife safari is based on an extraordinary safari journey led by the grandson of the legendary Kenyan hunter, J.A. Hunter. In support of Save the Rhino, this journey aims to show just how Rhino's survive today, particularly the ancestors of rhinos that fled the bullets of J.A. Hunter in the 1950's, whose government appointed job was to exterminate them from much of their range. Moving through some of Kenya's most beautiful landscape using superb ecolodges and comfortable classic camping you'll drive, walk and track animals including elephant, lions, leopards and of course Rhinos, through some of Kenya's most visionary conservations efforts and amongst its colourful Samburu, Kikuyu and Turkana cultures, through Lake Nakuru to the Chyulu Hills, overlooked by Mt Kilimanjaro.
This trip really differs from a conventional safari, as it covers 3 very different wildlife conservancies (that no conventional safari company covers) with privileged access, expertise and insight. It's a true journey of colonial history and discovery with a focus on the issues that face wildlife conservation today in Africa - and best of all, your participation directly supports Save the Rhino!
Eco Africa Experience: offers self funding volunteers an opportunity to work on Southern African private game reserves and marine ocean research projects. Eco Africa Experience will make a contribution to us every time a customer is referred so mention Save the Rhino when you book!

Richard Bonham Safaris: is a tour operator who can organise your safari in Kenya and Tanzania and offers staying at Ol Donyo Wuas, an exclusive lodge in the Chyulu Hills.

They recommend knowledgeable operators who provide comfort, good food and good company and, if required, unimaginable luxury. In addition they are committed to those outfitters and companies who are concerned for the wildlife and the environment and feel a responsibility both to their local communities and areas in which they operate.

Wilderness Safaris: shares the wild places of Southern Africa with their guests in a responsible manner. These magnificent remote areas provide a means, for both their guests and themselves, of reconnecting with the natural spirit – something often neglected and forgotten in the modern, fast-paced world in which we live. Their aim is to share what we have learnt over the years, on a journey that constantly changes our own lives, and which we hope will touch and change yours. At the same time, we believe that the future of conservation in Africa depends on the attitude of the communities living next to these wild areas. For too long the needs of these communities were neglected by people involved in conservation work. The twin benefits to the community of tourism ventures and employment create a true appreciation for the value of the land and its wildlife.

World Odyssey: Specialist tour operator, World Odyssey, can arrange tailor-made safaris in Africa and the Indian subcontinent, home to the few remaining wild rhino populations. By booking with World Odyssey, you can save 2.5% on your holiday cost, and they will donate a further 2.5% to Save the Rhino. How about visiting the Okavango Delta in Botswana, which is experiencing one of its largest floods for 20 years. The beauty of this region, dotted with palm islands and criss-crossed with slow-moving channels of water, is breathtaking and it remains one of the most delicate and fragile ecosystems in Africa. The policy of low volume/high cost tourism means that relatively few visitors come here and the white rhino, which have been recently reintroduced on Chief's Island are testament to the success of the region's conservation efforts.
