Save the Rhino - Connecting conservation and communities Save the Rhino International

Radio 4 Appeal

"Apart from a lucky few, two generations of schoolchildren across sub-Saharan Africa have never seen a rhino."

On Sunday 24 May Clive Anderson broadcast a BBC Radio 4 Appeal in aid of Save the Rhino International’s environmental education programmes in Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia.

Barrister, broadcaster, comedian, and author Clive Anderson is a Patron of Save The Rhino and, inspired by his friend the late Douglas Adams, will this weekend bring the rhino back to Radio 4. Renowned author Douglas Adams spoke and wrote about the plight of one of the rhino species in his BBC Radio 4 series (and arising book), "Last Chance to See", and now Clive will highlight the importance of environmental education and inspiring future generations to look after the wildlife that surrounds them. The appeal will target three environmental education programmes that are supported by Save the Rhino: Laikipia Wildlife Forum's Environmental Education Programme, Mkomazi's Rafiki wa Faru (Friend of the Rhino), and North Luangwa's Conservation Education Programme. Follow the links below to find out more about these projects and to pledge your support!

Environmental education for children living in areas of rich biodiversity is essential, if we are going to inspire them to become as passionate about conservation as Douglas was.”
